Anticipation Continues to Build for County Line Raceway’s Race for the Kid’s!

6th Annual Race for the Kid’s Benefiting Victory Junction Set for November 13th – 15th!

(Elm City, N.C.) As the Fall colors reach their peak here in Eastern North Carolina, that makes the countdown till November 13th that much sweeter for the marquee event at County Line Raceway presented by Lee Motor Group! In just two weeks the 3/8ths mile dirt oval is set to launch its 6th campaign of the very popular Race for the Kids benefiting Victory Junction. Anticipation is trending up at a rapid rate as several announcements have been made including anticipated drivers as well as bonus money and awards up for grabs. For the first time since its inception, the Race for the Kid’s will welcome a Grand Marshall, former Charlotte Motor Speedway promoter and current grass roots racing supporter Humpy Wheeler will greet fans and racers on Saturday November 15th. Once again the Ultimate Super Late Model Series headlines the event as teams compete for a shot at the $10,000 payday and over $35,000 dollars in purse and bonus money. The 3/8 mile red clay oval will also welcome back the Modifieds to the 6th Annual Race for the Kid’s. Fans can expect to see the entire explosive lineup of Modified drivers from all over the Southeast and beyond, a large group of regional contenders, and the famous County Line regulars, a mix sure to provide plenty of fireworks upon their arrival. Also on the card, the Bell & Bell Vintage Modified Series will battle in two, fifteen lap events. Tappahannock Virginia’s Maxxie Broaddus will fly high and smash his way down the front stretch in the powerful Monster Truck Walking Tall! The 6th Annual Race for the Kid’s finale dubbed the “Crash for the Kids will showcase up to 20 compact cars in a possible $1,000 winner take all demolition derby. Ultimate Super Late Model Series Director Kelley Carlton described the Race for the Kids best, “If you are a motorsports fan, County Line Raceway is the place to be November 14th and 15th. This is more than a race; it’s an event for a great cause that offers a little bit of everything for fans of all ages.

When action gets underway on Thursday November 13th the track roars to life as participants will be given the opportunity to shake down their rides in an evening of Test N’ Tune.

On Friday the long awaited competitive laps will be turned as Qualifying and Heat races will take place for the Ultimate Super Late Model Series. This will set the stage for Saturday night’s Last Chance heat and $10,000 to win 50 lap A-Main. A $200 Fast Qualifier Award is up for grabs for the Super Late Model teams courtesy of Batten Seamless Gutters and Localracechat.com. As announced a few weeks ago, County Line Raceway promoters James Upchurch and Brenda Holcombe along with Race for the Kid’s promoter Steve Summerlin made the decision to bring back the very popular H&R Block of Wilson Twin 25’s for the Modifieds! The entire field of Modifieds will split up and run two complete/separate 25 lap $750 to win, $100 to start events that will give at least forty eight racers the opportunity to race in an A-Main. Qualifying will be utilized in setting up the two groups.

On Saturday night action will continue as the racers and fans from all over converge on the “Little Track Making Big Noise for the 6th Annual Race for the Kids main event. The atmosphere will be electric as the pits will buzz with anticipation for the nights events. The featured Ultimate Super Late Model Series will hit the track with a round of practice and a Last Chance heat race that will set the stage for the adrenaline filled 50 lap A-Main paying $10,000 to the win, $500 to start. Fans will be hanging on the edge of their seats as the Super Late Model drivers rip the dirt turning 13 to 14 second lap times on the 3/8ths mile dirt surface. When the dust settles not only will one lucky driver walk away with $10,000 in prize money, a brand new La-Z-Boy Recliner will be awarded by Elm City Furniture as well as a custom set of corn hole boards from JDeans Cornhole Boards of Wilson. The Ultimate Super Late Model Series will also crown it’s season point’s champion. Heading into the 6th Annual Race for the Kids, Dennis “Rambo Franklin holds a slim 33 point advantage over Jeff Smith.

If history repeats itself, the Modifieds will once again boast the largest car count of the weekend. The “Open Wheel warriors will hit reset on Saturday night. Teams will get a round of practice before a 2 lap qualifying session. A $100 Fast Qualifier Award will be up for grabs courtesy of Gloucester Virginia’s Harris Renovation Services. Once timed laps are complete, Heat Races and a Last Chance Heat will set the order for a 40 lap feature paying $5,000 to win, $500 to start. The winning modified driver will also be rewarded a custom set of corn hole boards by JDeans Cornhole Boards of Wilson. Fans will be treated to watching drivers from all over the country compete. This year’s leading candidate for the Erwin Racing Supply Longest Tow Award is Bryant Dickinson. Bryant and crew will make the trek from Ionia, Michigan in hopes of qualifying for both the Ultimate Super Late Model Series event as well as the Modified feature.

Race fans will be taken back in time when the Bell & Bell Vintage Modified Series takes to the track for their two 15 lap events. These Modified machines will not be there for an exhibition, these drivers will be standing on the gas competing for position and that checkered flag. The Bell & Bell Vintage Series is made up of veteran dirt racers from the Carolina’s driving machines that will take us back to an era where it all began.

The 6th Annual Race for the Kid’s will once again conclude with the Night of Destruction. The Walking Tall Monster Truck presented by Cox Auto Salvage of Elm City will put on an aerial display by jumping 4 cars that will be strategically placed along the front stretch. The night’s finale will be a winner take all Compact Car Demolition Derby. This event has been gaining interest from all over the Southern region.
